Braaains-Utter shite 4 piece'punk'band with some bald dude shreiking out some of the WORST VOCALS I've heard in a long long time. at the end of their set one the dudes attempted to smash the mic....woo...hoo
Spirit Hotography- i had heard these dudes were 'annoying' but i had an open mind going into their set. 3 piece band:2 electric guitars, bass and a 'drum machine' thing.they played a brief set which consisted of droney guitar jams over rudimentary electronic percussion. no vocals...sounded ok. kind of like watching a band jam on stuff before they actually form songs..
Blue Jungle- solid LA band.jangly garage type with sultry female vox. the bro on guitar was solid as well. churning out lead guit lines awash in echo/reverb. the 'hawtie' lead singer seemed quite fond of her tambourine. playing it with mad 'emotion'
XYX- 2 piece:girl bass/vox and drummr boy. the first couple tracks were quite solid. driving crunchy bass lines with tight drumming that was somehow both smooth and choppy at the same time. nice! the yippy delay soaked vocals were a nice touch as well. unfortunately the bass head kept giving out and after a couple attempts to tape it back together the show was a bust. damn cheap mexican drum sets. oh well. i would definitely check them out again
good times. even with the power failure in between sets and the tech probs with XYX. never a dull moment. BRAAIINS SUX!! wow.
